We enjoyed this trip but there were "rough edges" shall we say. We saw wonders, Mexico is beautiful and rich in history and prehistory, and Day of the Dead is especially colorful. However, we did NOT see the festivities in a cemetery as advertised and several of our hikes were not as advertised, too difficult for all. We felt lucky there were no serious mishaps (not minimize their discomfort, one woman fell and was bruised while another man fainted). As a result, one site visit was eliminated. The staff were heroically helpful but planning, time management, and pacing were all off the mark.

Travis was a terrific guide: extremely knowledgeable, affable, and helpful to Kelly with two participants with mobility issues. Travis was patient as he helped me down a particularly scary hill (given my vertigo) He can be a new "Stan Gunter". Kelly too was very helpful and her usual ebullient self. Travis took over this trip from Karl Taube. A couple of the "explore this city" didn't happen because more time was needed by participants at archeological sites. I think Travis will adjust for the future (hopefully you can keep Travis). This was a tolerable adjustment. Travis provided three lectures to reinforce the theme of the trip. Only once before (Andy in Bolivia) had I experienced welcome lectures. Overall, a very fine trip.

It was a very informative, interesting, well planned and thought out trip. We had a guide, Steve Lekson who was brilliant, knowledgeable, conversational and personable. Our Tour Manager, Judy Hoffman was accommodating, communicative, and attentive througout. We had a personable, uncomplaining and excellent driver, Scott, who made travel comfortable. and on time. Our hotels and meals were comfortable, well situated and clean.

This trip provided a tour of an incredibly beautiful area of the US and a deep dive into its prehistory. The stories of people, their architecture and life styles as well as their migrations was fascinating and well explained by study guide, Steve Lekson. An added feature was stories of the history of archeological digs and how this field has evolved its thinking over time. The trip was well paced and the small group size gave an intimate feel to the whole experience.

We had heat well above normal for the time of year. Schedule was not adjusted to take excessive heat into account. We travelled by Mercedes van and it to took the operator a week to figure out how to operate the air conditioner. Lastly, the trip was seventeen days long which was two long by four or five days.
